NEW WORKS PROVINCETOWN is a developmental theatre lab that was founded in 2020 by Producer MARK CORTALE with partners JONATHAN MURRAY and HARVEY REESE to create and develop new theatrical works in 2020.
Mark Cortale, who just completed his 12th and final season as Producing Artistic Director of The Art House is currently a lead producer of the new Broadway musical Days of Wine and Roses, with book by Craig Lucas, music and lyrics by Adam Guettel and directed by Michael Greif. The production starring Kelli O'Hara & Brian D'Arcy James opens at Studio 54 on January 28, 2024. Jonathan Murray, half of television’s legendary Bunim/Murray Productions, is widely credited for inventing the modern reality television genre, including creating and/or executive producing the groundbreaking shows The Real World, Road Rules, The Challenge,The Simple Life, Making the Band, Project Runway, Keeping Up With The Kardashians, and the Emmy award winning Born This Way, among others. Together with his partner, Harvey Reese, they have been longtime supporters and investors in theater, including Standing on Ceremony: The Gay Marriage Plays and Motherhood Out Loud.

LOVE IS STRANGE (commissioned July 2022)

A first writers' retreat took place in Provincetown in July 2023 with a second slated for January 2024. Love Is Strange is based on the 2014 Ira Sachs film of the same name.

In Table 17 , Jada and Dallas, who after a failed engagement haven’t spoken or seen each other in two whole years -reunite for the very first time in front of the audience. Who's moved on? Who's still holding on? Looks like we'll find out.
A developmental workshop and first reading took place in Provincetown in September 2023 directed by Zhailon Levingston and starring Danyel Fulton, Carter Redwood and Michael Rishawn.

The show is inspired by the thrilling story of visionary skipper Tracy Edwards and her crew of women who made history as the first ever all-female racing team to compete in the Whitbread Round The World Yacht Race.
A reading took place in March of 2023 featuring Kate Baldwin, George Abud and Chris Innvar.
